Dear Fyniss,
I really want to go to homecoming but I don’t have a date. My friends keep telling me just to go and don’t worry about a date. I’m not sure what I should do. PLEASE help. Sincerely, Undecided Student Dear Undecided Student, Whether you have a date or not, homecoming is all about the fun. It’s an event where students get dressed up, dance, and enjoy some of the fun things in high school. I agree with your friends when they say just go to homecoming without worrying about a date. I understand how you feel like you may need a date, but half of the students attending homecoming will not have a date. Therefore, you won’t be the only one. Another worry you might have is not having a date to take pictures with before the dance. Personally, I feel like taking pictures with a group of friends is more memorable than taking them with a date that may dislike taking pictures. Also, if you are worried about not being having someone to dance with at Homecoming, don’t. At homecoming most of the students are together dancing with each other and having fun. Some of the benefits of going to homecoming are the social experience, dancing, being with friends, and the fact that it is a right of passage because it is not a middle school event. So just keep these key benefits in mind when considering to go to homecoming or not. Most of all, remember to have fun. Sincerely, Fyniss
