NHS Via Walk

  This past Saturday, September 10, National Honors Society was up with the sun, to help the Lehigh Valley Health Network’s via marathon. Volunteers began shifts as early as 5:30 in the morning, to help get everything ready for a successful run. There were a variety of duties that the members participated in. These included working the water station, cheering and directing as a course marshall, and instructing cars on getting to the correct parking location.
   “It was fun to watch the people run and cheer them on,” said Aliceann Trostle, senior.
   She was a course marshall, that had the amazing experience of supporting the runners through their intense 5k. Despite the heat of the morning, the runners were motivated, which made the job of the volunteers much easier.
 “I had a lot of fun, and it was really nice when the runners were like thank you for volunteering. It was great to cheer people on and keep their spirits going,” said Hailey Atiyeh, senior.
