2015 Bethlehem Winter Classic
FIHC Board has been working hard to plan the 2015 Bethlehem Winter Classic and are looking forward to another GREAT turnout again this year. School was closed due to snow last year but that didn’t stop us! Tell EVERYONE you know who likes hockey to come cheer for Freedom vs. Liberty on Wednesday, February 4th. Doors open at 5:30 and festivities start at 6:15. Extra bleachers have been arranged and there is lots of standing room. Come early to get a good spot to watch the game!
It’s Senior Night for both teams. Senior players and their parents will be announced and honored. Tiffany Castillo, FHS Senior, will once again WOW the crowd by singing The National Anthem. Tiffany was amazing singing for us at the PP&L Center back in November. Dr. Roy, BASD Superintendent, will start the game off with a ceremonial puck drop and JV players will toss FIHC & Lehigh Valley Phantoms freebies out to the crowd between periods. Don’t worry about dinner because the refreshment stand will be open with hot beverages and food. We’ll also be selling Freedom Ice Hockey shirts and hand warmers.
Freedom students can buy $2 tickets during school lunches on Tuesday 1/27 and Wednesday 1/28 (adjustments may be made due to school closings). The players and Miss Maholick will work out a schedule to help sell tickets. Kim Manganiello and Laura Hostage will also be there selling tickets, shirts & scarves and answering any questions. Tickets will also be available from Mrs. Maholick throughout the school day. Family and other fans who attend can pay $2 at the door. All proceeds collected at the door by both teams will be donated to Dream Come True of the Lehigh Valley, benefiting terminally & critically ill children.
Muni Rink is outdoors but covered. Dress WARM and cheer LOUD!
